On Saturday morning, June 1st, our amazing 4th grade team—including students, teachers, custodians, parent volunteers, and Dr. Fagin—loaded 50 boxes of goods collected over the past few weeks. These supplies were delivered to a 40-foot shipping container destined to help refugees in Somalia and Yemen. Our 4th graders participated in this service project with STAR—Students Taking Action for Relief—which is a coalition of over 50 New York City area schools. 4th graders learned about life for refugees around the world, and then led school-wide efforts to collect specific supplies to support the STAR Project. We are inspired by this team and thank all the students, families, teachers and staff for their commitment to service beyond our PS 29 community.
