Middle School Resources

The middle school process for the 2019-2020 school year will be available in early October, and the application deadline will be December 2.

The PS29 Middle School Team will hold a family information session on

Thursday, September 26th at 8:35AM in the auditorium. 


The first week of October, families will receive a welcome letter from the DOE in the mail containing their PIN number, which they can use to create their MySchools profile.  If you have not yet received your letter, please contact Monica Gutierrez or Cara Turnbull. 


We are always here to help and you can reach out with any questions you might have.  We will provide you with as much information and support as we can throughout this process.

Middle School Fairs and Forums


There will be a District 15 Middle School Fair on Monday, October 28th, from 5:00-7:30PM at the Park Slope Educational Complex (M.S. 88). M.S. 88 is at 544 7th Avenue. 

District 15 is also hosting three Middle School Forums.  During the forums middle school administrators and/or other staff will briefly showcase their school so that our families have more information when applying to middle school.  The forums will be on the following dates:


Tuesday, October 22, 2019, PS 1 in Sunset Park, 5:30-7:30PM. 

Tuesday, November 12, PS 130 in Kensington, 5:30-7:30PM.

Friday, November 15th, PS 32 in Carroll Gardens, 9:30-11:30AM

Admissions Updates:

The DOE is revising the middle school admissions process for Fall 2020 enrollment based on feedback from families and schools. These improvements will make admissions simpler for school staff and families:

  • One Main Application Round: Families will apply using a single application (October–December), and receive a single school offer in March. 

  • Waitlists: Middle schools will begin using waitlists to fill any vacant seats by contacting and making offers to families (March–September). There will be no appeals round.

  • Family Welcome Center Support (FWC): Families will be able to visit a FWC for enrollment support as soon as offers are released (March–ongoing).
