Arrival and Dismissal
Please Read Your Grade Specific Arrival and Dismissal Procedures Carefully.
Arrival and dismissal procedures will be staggered.
Please note:
The school yard will be closed prior to morning arrival.
The yard will reopen to the public at 4:30 PM.
We will clear the yard immediately following dismissal to accommodate
our After School Kids Club Program. At 4:30, the school yard will resume as a
socially-distanced play space for our community. Masks are required for all
individuals that are in the school yard - even after school hours,
in accordance with NYC Park Rules.
Pre-Kindergarteners
Arrival: 8:30 AM / Dismissal 2:45 PM from the gates on either side of the main entrance.
ARRIVAL

Pre-K students and families (1 adult per child) will line up along the gate on either side of the main doors on Henry Street at 8:30 AM. Teachers will meet Pre-K students in their lines and escort them to the classroom.

Each class teacher will conduct temperature screenings of the Pre-K students in the classroom.

DISMISSAL

Pre-K: 2:45 PM from the gates on either side of the main entrance on Henry Street.

Teachers will escort students to the outer gated gardens and dismiss students to a parent or caregiver.
Kindergarteners
Arrival: 8:35 AM in schoolyard / Dismissal 2:50 PM from the schoolyard line spots.
ARRIVAL

Students will enter the schoolyard via the Kane Street and Baltic Street gates at 8:35 AM (without families accompanying them).

Kindergarteners will be forming circles that align with the painted circles on the concrete between the school building and the benches.

The classroom teachers will be there prior to the gate opening.

There will be signs indicating the specific class and teacher as well as markers on the ground to ensure social distancing.

Each class teacher will conduct temperature screenings in the classroom after escorting the Kindergarteners upstairs.

DISMISSAL

2:50 PM from schoolyard line spots.

One caregiver per family will be permitted into the schoolyard at a time for pick-up.

This is not a time for lingering or holding conversations with teachers or one another.

You will need to exit the yard immediately after picking up your child as the yard will be closed to the public until 4:30 PM
Grade 1
Arrival: 8:30 AM / Dismissal 2:50 PM from the schoolyard line spots.

Students will enter the Baltic Street doors on their own beginning at 8:28 AM (without families accompanying them).

There will be markers on the ground in the stairwells to ensure social distancing.

Each class teacher will conduct temperature screenings in the classroom.

DISMISSAL

2:50 PM from the schoolyard line spots.

One caregiver per family will be permitted into the schoolyard at a time for pick-up.

This is not a time for lingering or holding conversations with teachers or one another.

Grade 2
Arrival: 8:30 AM / Dismissal 2:50 PM from the schoolyard line spots.

Grades 3, 4 and 5
Arrival: 8:30 AM / Dismissal 2:50 PM from the schoolyard line spots.
Note: Gates will open at 8:28 AM for arrival.
ARRIVAL

3rd, 4th, and 5th grade - Students will enter the building, through the schoolyard on their own (without an adult accompanying them) beginning at 8:28 AM.

There will be markers on the ground in the stairwells to ensure social distancing.

Each class teacher will conduct temperature screenings in the classroom.
DISMISSAL

3rd, 4th, and 5th: 2:50 PM from the schoolyard line spots.

One caregiver per family will be permitted into the schoolyard at a time for pick-up.

We are encouraging 4th and 5th-grade families to allow for self-dismissal to reduce the number of people in our yard. (Email your child’s teacher if you would like your 4th or 5th grader to self-dismiss. Documentation is required for allowing students to self dismiss)

LATE PICK-UP PROTOCOLS

Students who have not been picked up will be escorted to the “Late Line” in the outer cafeteria on the Baltic Street side. Late pick-up begins at 2:55 PM

Families will have to enter the school building using the main entrance to pick up their children at this time.
