carefully and also note the phase-in plan for each grade.

REGULAR ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL PROCEDURES & PHASE-IN PLANS:

Pre-K

Families will follow an arrival phase-in schedule for the first day of school, and will begin regular arrival and dismissal on Friday, September 5th:

Regular Arrival: 8:28 am, Henry Street front gated garden on the Kane Street side:

  • Pre-K 220: Students and families will line up outside of the gated area on Henry Street closer to the main entrance where there is a sign that indicates the class number. 

  • Pre-K 204: Students and families will line up outside of the gated area on Henry Street closer to Kane Street where there is a sign that indicates the class number. 

  • Once the classroom teachers arrive, they will invite students to enter the gated areas and direct them to line up inside of those gated areas. Families should remain outside of the gated areas.

Regular Dismissal: 2:45 pm, Front gated gardens.

Pre-K families will line up outside the gated garden toward Kane Street, in front of our school on Henry Street where they line up in the morning for arrival. Depending on your child’s assigned teacher and class, you will line up at the corner of the gate near the main entrance or at the entrance closer to Kane Street.  

  

Phase-in:

Thursday, September 4th

  • Family members will meet their classroom teacher and gather with their children in the front garden as a class. Family members will walk with the teacher and children upstairs to their children’s classroom with some activities set up at tables. Families will say goodbye once their children are feeling comfortable.

  • Regular dismissal at 2:45 PM from the front gated gardens.

Friday, September 5th

  • Regular Arrival and Dismissal

 

Kindergarten

Families will follow a phase-in schedule for the first three days of school, and will begin regular arrival and dismissal on Tuesday, September 9th:

 

Regular Arrival: 8:30 am, Schoolyard (students enter yard on their own to meet their teachers at their line spots)

Regular Dismissal: 2:50 pm, Schoolyard

 

Phase-in for arrival on the first few days of school: 

 

Thursday, September 4th:

8:45 am arrival (please do not enter the schoolyard before 8:45 am)

Please note that our 1st-5th grade students will be entering the schoolyard through the gates on Baltic and Kane Streets at 8:30 am. Please keep clear of the gates as they enter. We appreciate your help in keeping this process safe and orderly for students and families.

  • Family members will accompany each child to their line spots in the schoolyard. Kindergarten line spots will be along the back of the school building in the painted circles on the ground of the schoolyard. Please look out for signs with your child’s teacher name.

  • Regular dismissal from the schoolyard.

Friday, September 5th:

8:45 am arrival (please do not enter the schoolyard before 8:45 am)

  • Family member(s) will accompany each child to their line spots in the schoolyard.

  • Regular dismissal.

Monday, September 8th:

8:45 am arrival 

  • Family member(s) will accompany each child to their line spots in the schoolyard.

  • Regular dismissal.

Tuesday, September 9th:

Regular arrival at 8:30 am

  • Regular arrival and dismissal, with students entering the schoolyard on their own to meet their teachers at their line spots.

1st Grade

Families will follow a phase-in schedule for the first three days of school, and will begin regular arrival and dismissal on Tuesday, September 9th:

 

Regular Arrival: 8:27 am, Baltic Street side doors (students enter the school building on their own)

Regular Dismissal: 2:50 pm, Schoolyard

 

Phase-in for arrival on the first few days of school:

  • Family members can accompany each child to their line spots in the schoolyard. 1st  grade line spots will be along the Baltic Street gates. Please look out for signs with your child’s teacher name

  • Regular dismissal.

Monday, September 8th

  • Students enter the schoolyard on their own to meet their teachers at their line spots.

  • Regular dismissal.

Tuesday, September 9th

  • Regular arrival and dismissal, with students entering the building on their own through the Baltic Street side doors. There will be school staff at each floor assisting students as they head to their classrooms.

 

2nd Grade

Families will follow a phase-in schedule for the first three days of school, and will begin regular arrival and dismissal on Tuesday, September 9th:

 

Regular Arrival: 8:27 am, Kane Street side doors (students enter the school building on their own)

Regular Dismissal: 2:50 pm, Schoolyard

Families will follow a phase-in schedule for the first day of school, and will begin regular arrival and dismissal on Friday, September 5th:

 

Regular Arrival: 8:27 am, Schoolyard, Kane Street entry (students enter the building on their own)

Regular Dismissal: 2:50 pm, Schoolyard

4th Grade

Families will follow a phase-in schedule for the first day of school, and will begin regular arrival and dismissal on Friday, September 5th:

 

Regular Arrival: 8:27 am, Schoolyard, Baltic Street entry (students enter the building on their own)

Regular Dismissal: 2:50 pm, Schoolyard

LATE PICK-UP PROTOCOLS

  • Students who have not been picked up will be escorted to the “Late Line” in the outer cafeteria on the Baltic Street side. Late pick-up begins at 2:55 PM

  • Families will have to enter the school building using the main entrance to pick up their children at this time.
