The marquee event of the month is our Block Party on June 12 from 5-8 p.m., and it bears repeating: we are in big need of volunteers. We have about 100 slots to fill so please sign up here to volunteer or donate for food and supplies here.Among the biggest needs: Setting up the party before it starts; serving food; managing the bounce house lines and tickets; and cleaning up afterward. These shifts are only an hour-long, so not a major time commitment but hugely important in helping this event remain a success!It’s hard to overstate what an elaborate effort the Block Party is. It is a symphony of moving parts starting with Costco food runs at dawn and ending late at night when the last bags of trash are hauled away. Thanks to our Block Party committee for all their work and we can’t wait for this big event just around the corner!

Hello PS 29 Families,

We are excited to announce that the PS 29 Block Party and Art Auction will return on Friday, June 12th from 5-8 p.m. This is one of our favorite community events of the year, and we can’t wait to celebrate with all of our PS29 families for an afternoon full of food, music, games, rides, art, and neighborhood fun.

We’re hoping to make this year’s Block Party the best one yet — and we need your help to make it happen! Here’s how you can support the event:

• Volunteer! - We’re looking for volunteers to help run activities, sell food, manage games, and support the block party throughout the evening. Do you have an older kid who’s a PS29 alum? We’d love to have them volunteer and help out too! Please sign up here.

• Donate to Support Food, Drinks & Supplies - To help offset production costs for the event, we’re collecting monetary donations that will go directly toward food, beverages, and supplies for the Block Party. Any amount helps, and you can contribute here.   

• Pre-Order Tickets - You can buy tickets by pre-ordering now for quick pickup before or at the event. Tickets are $1 each and are required for both food and activities. We will also be selling tickets THURSDAY, JUNE 11th, at drop-off and pick-up as well as on FRIDAY at the event. If you pre-ordered tickets they will be under your name at the ticket table.This year’s celebration, like last year's, will feature activities on Baltic Street, bounce houses, face painting, food, music in the schoolyard and so much more. We are also thrilled to feature a special performance from the Shinebone Alley Stilt Band! We can't wait to see what heights they get to.
