Ready for Back to School, PS 29 Families? 

We’re so excited to welcome students back to the building this week. We've missed our returning students and are thrilled to meet our new ones!

Kindly use the checklist below to make sure you have all the information you need, and that your forms are completed before the first day of school on Thursday, September 10. Please also take care to review the Arrival, Dismissal & Phase-In plans for your child’s specific grade.We’re so looking forward to seeing all our families next week, and to our continued partnership this year!

Family Checklist

• I have marked my calendar for the Pre-K & Kindergarten Meet-Up on Tuesday, September 8 from 2:30-3:30pm, and/or the PTA Back to School Hang (for all grades) on Wednesday, September 9 from 4-5pm. Both events will take place in the schoolyard. More information to follow. 

• I have carefully reviewed the Arrival, Dismissal & Phase-In Plan for my child(ren)’s specific grade. I noted the phase-in plan as well as the regular arrival and dismissal procedures.  

• I have completed the Family Information Form (due by Wednesday 9/9!). You will be able to complete this form after you receive your child(ren)'s class as you'll need to input their class and teacher's name. Please submit one form per enrolled child.  

• I have completed the Income Inquiry Form (due by Wednesday 9/9!). Please submit one form per enrolled child. 

• I have the PS29 school calendar bookmarked along with the 2026-2027 NYCPS calendar. Please note that these dates, times, and locations are subject to change, and that events will be added to the calendar throughout the year. The most current information is always shared in the Parent Coordinator’s Weekly Newsletter which is emailed every Friday at 3:30 pm starting next week.  I have read the new PS 29's Cell Phone + Smart Watch Policy in adherence to the new NYCPS Cell Phone and Electronic Device Policy  A hard copy of our school's cell phone + smart watch policy will be sent home in the first week of school including a signature form that must be returned.

• If I have not received my child’s class placement by Tuesday, September 8, I can contact ssmart@ps29bk.org.  

• Kids Club starts the first day of school, Thursday, September 10, for grades K-5.  Pre-K students begin Friday, September 11.  To ensure we are prepared with rosters for teachers, enrollment  for Kids Club is due by Tuesday, September 8. Enrollment is now on a first come, first serve basis through the Parent Portal and will remain open until all spaces are filled.  Many courses still have space available and are open for direct enrollment through the Parent Portal as well.  For more details visit www.ps29plus.com.  Once you receive your student's classroom assignment, please update their classroom in the Parent Portal.  If you have any questions about Kids Club or Courses, please email us at info@ps29plus.com or visit our website.
