PS29 Summer Reading Challenge is Back!

Updated: Sep 27, 2023

Thanks for participating in the PS 29 Summer Reading Challenge!

This is a fun way to dive into reading and make it a big part of your summer.

Here is the message (that was backpacked and sent home by teachers) that has all of the information on how the reading challenge works, complete with a reading log.

If you lose your reading log or you need another page - just use whatever paper you have handy!

Forms will be due by 9/27, to be physically dropped off in the main office in a box that will be clearly labeled.

If you'd like to make a donation, in honor of your reader, to support literacy activities at PS 29, you may do so using this link.

Need some inspiration on what to read?

Here are some great reading lists, and also books written by the authors we are using as the names for this year's "Author Clubs"

Author Club Authors: (You don't HAVE to read any of these authors, we just share them as they are fantastic writers and they've written many books that have become PS 29 favorites!)

  • If you log 30 hours of summer reading, you’re in club Joanna Ho

  • If you log 31 - 50 hours of summer reading, you’re in club Saadia Faruqi

  • If you log 51 - 75 hours of summer reading, you’re in club Remy Lai

  • If you log 76 - 100 hours of summer reading, you’re in club Angela Cervantes

  • If you log 101 -150 hours of summer reading, you’re in club Jerry Craft

  • If you log 151+ hours of summer reading, you’re in club Jacqueline Woodson
