PS 29 Celebrates the 15th Annual Kick Butts Day!

One of PS29's most beloved events was celebrated on Monday, May 20th at the Red Hook track!  Now in its 15th year, Kick Butts Day was started by our Physical Education teacher, Ms. Kathy Nobles, with the intention of raising awareness about how addictive and detrimental to your health cigarette smoking is. Every 4th and 5th grade student participated in baton relays, 100 meter races, standing long jumps, 50 and 100 meter dash races, 1/4 mile races and more. Even the 4th and 5th grade teachers participated in the always popular teacher races!

Huge thanks to Ms. Nobles for being the creative force behind this, to Stephanie Manske, (alumni parent who continues to inspire our students on leading an active lifestyle, and volunteers to lead the Running Club), and to all staff involved. Very special thanks also to all our parent volunteers who helped to make sure the event was a huge success!
