Drama @ 29

In Drama class this year your child will explore the world of theatre through the Actor’s Toolbox: the body, the voice, imagination, concentration, and cooperation. In the lower grades we will be acting, singing, and dancing as we explore stories and plays and expand our imaginations. In the upper grades, we will take on more roles in the theatre, learning how to become playwrights, directors, and designers, as we work on scripted and sometimes original class plays.

Below you will find an overview of the curricula for each grade. All units of study meet the Theatre standards in the NYC Blueprint for the Arts. Each year students will gain more skills which they can choose to apply towards PS 29’s culminating theatrical event, The 5th Grade Play.
