The Pre-K application process will open up in early February and will run through March 15, 2019 . Please visit the DOE Pre-K website for more information. Applications are not done at the school, all applications are done online or by phone. Please note that PS 29’s Pre-K Program only has 36 seats, in the past few years all seats have been filled by siblings.  We highly encourage families to look at other Pre-K programs as well.  Please find the 2019 Pre-K Application Guide here.

If you have recently moved to that area and are looking for a Pre-K program for the current school year, please call Call 718-935-2009 for more information on where to find a seat for your Pre-K child.

Kindergarten Application Process for 2019-20 School Year

The Kindergarten application process opened December 5th and will run through the deadline of January 22, 2019.  To apply for kindergarten, your child must be a current New York City resident who was born in 2014. Kindergarten admissions are open to all students of this age, including current pre-K students at DOE public schools, Pre-K Centers, NYC Early Education Centers, charter schools, and private and parochial schools; students with disabilities; students with accessibility needs; students learning English; students in temporary housing; and LGBTQ and gender nonconforming students.

You can apply by the January 14th deadline in one of three ways:

  • Apply online at MySchools, the online application portal.  Just create an account and start exploring schools!
  • By phone at 718-935-2009
  • In person, at a Family Welcome Center (29 Fort Greene Place, basement of Brooklyn Technical HS).  Applications are not done at schools.

Kindergarten admissions is not first come, first served—all applications submitted online, by phone, or in person by the deadline will be treated the same based on admissions priorities.

For more information, including information for students with disabilities, please visit the Kindergarten Enrollment Page.
